Challenge

Welcome to the Cryptocurrency Cyber Challenge, a unique contest to develop methods for attack and defense of cryptocurrency systems. Build and secure new applications using testnet tokens in a red-team blue-team environment while competing with neighbor teams. Depending on sponsor fundraising, we may be able to award prizes for the best achievements.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

To participate free of charge in the Cryptocurrency Cyber Challenge as an individual or team, register your (pseudo)name to receive confirmation and detailed instructions. Each member of a team must register. On site registration may be available at the event, but once contest seats fill the Cryptocurrency Cyber Challenge will close to new participants. Awarding of monetary prizes and other rewards is not guaranteed and may depends on the opinions and moods of sloppy judges. Your physical presence is required. Good luck!

CONTEST RULES

Levels

Bonehead

To win this level you must understand five types of value loss and common defences against them.

Nostrich

To win this level you must find a specific emoji on Nostr that has encoded a bitcoin testnet private key hidden in it.

Smartish

To win this level you must show a working cryptocurrency system (Virtualbox, Docker, or similar) on your own computer.

Privacy

To win this level you must demonstrate application(s) on your computer while you attack the privacy of a wallet or transaction.

Majestic

To win this level you must secure a hypothetical high value target, using your skills and any tools.

Ultimate

To win this level you must discover and prove the true identities of Nicolas van Saberhagen and Satoshi Nakamoto.

Adversaries Everywhere

Through creative use of challenge resources we may have planted secret adversaries in your team, so double check your solutions.

Win a Prize

Try hard enough and you might convince a Cryptocurrency Challenge judge to award a prize (if available) for your solution to defend users from attacks on an application or network.
